Definitely a great brunch spot to come if you want to sit outside with gorgeous views and good service! Went on a Saturday and it surprisingly wasn't that packed. I loved the bao buns they were so fluffy and tasty, definitely recommend. The mimosa diy was fun too, made more sense than just getting individual mimosas!! Great experience, would love to come back!
I came with a friend to Miru on a weekday, mostly for the rooftop. The entire restaurant is GORGEOUS. Stunning views of the loop, and the aesthetic is perfect for the theme. My friend and I just got drinks, and they were phenomenal! Bartender was knowledgable and friendly. Once I start raking in millions, I'll be back for dinner.
Miru is the rooftop restaurant at the St. Regis in Chicago. The ambiance is upscale with great views of the city. The menu has some pretty great options. My favorite was the smoked pork belly skewer appetizer: 10 out of 10... super tender, great flavor, and not fatty at all!
This place is where you go for the perfect access to the most beautiful viewpoint of Chicago's river on what it feels like an aerial standpoint. The view is breathtaking and the gust of fresh air that flows inside of you is priceless. The weather was perfect when we arrived with bright blue skies but then unexpectedly a cloud of fog loomed in during our lunch. The restaurant graciously offered warm fluffy blankets for your back and legs. After I put these on I instantly felt like a character in the Game of Thrones heirs sitting on top of their throne. The furry soft blankets instantly warms you but at the same time also transports you into an elevated feel on a majestic level. In terms of the food, everything we got was splendid from the drinks to the eats. I LOVED their "Who the Heck is Hugo?" This had Nikki Coffey Vodka, Unico Yuzu Vermouth, St. German, lycee, & lemon. My husband enjoyed their local Chicago beer called, "Moody Tongue." We also ordered their Tempura Rock Shrimp, Samurai Salad that came with greens, chopped chicken, & sesame ginger. Their St. Regis Prime Burger with their Tillamook cheddar cheese & French fries were delicious. I couldn't help but order something unordinary, which was the grilled avocado that comes lightly glazed with that spicy soy. This dish was the enhancer to the other dishes for me. It was a delight especially for the paleo, vegetarian pallet. I love when establishments pay attention to this factor. The experience was phenomenal overall.
We had an amazing dinner , food , beverages and desert absolutely outstanding, every bite impressed us with freshness of ingredients and complexity of flavors! Plating and overall ambience were elegant and beautiful! Gorgeous views, comfortable sitting. I must add about the service-- bravo! What a great team! We had our server Paul so knowledgeable and passionate about food and beverage pairings we didn't need a sommelier, he provided accurate information and his recommendations were right on! He parted up with Alex, who made sure we were comfortable at all times! Seamlessly adding wine to my glass, clearing plates and everything in between! Our overall experience was worth every penny and six stars!
Unforgettable Dining Experience I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, and it instantly became the best dining experience we've ever had. The restaurant's ambiance is elegant, sleek, and uniquely inviting, setting the stage for a memorable evening. Every dish surpassed our expectations; each bite was exceptional. The tender pork belly, fresh sushi, and out-of-this-world lobster spring rolls left us craving more. To complement the exquisite flavors, the cocktails were perfect, adding another layer of enjoyment to the meal. We were unsure which red we wanted to enjoy during dinner, so our server went above and beyond and brought us 4 different tastings to sample. We've been raving about our experience to everyone we know, recommending this gem without hesitation. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining adventure, this restaurant is an absolute must-try. We can't wait to go back and experience the rooftop during warm weather!
Everyone is dressed up here, as its food, panoramic views, and prices. Favorite dishes: * Raw hamachi, lemon, and white ponzu * Raw salmon, truffle, yuzu, and miso salt * Crispy rice with spicy blue fin tuna * Shichimi eggplant, red miso, and crispy lotus * Triple tuna maki * Miru rainbow * Black sesame mochi * Chocolate silk tart * Coconut cake and mango mousse So-so dishes: * Duck yakisoba Least favorite dishes (1 star off): * Crispy rice with king crab: too much mayonnaise * Lobster spring rolls: did not taste lobster * Diver scallops: too salty Please note that Miru adds a "surcharge" (not gratuity) to every meal without disclosing this to its customers ahead of time. One night, on our ~$500 dinner bill, we were added $50. Then when we came for lunch on another day, on our ~$175 bill, we were added $4. It seems like the surcharge amounts were random. When we asked our waitstaff what this charge is for, he could not give an answer, so we asked him to take it off. I don't like how they just sneak that in there if you don't check your bill.
We came here for brunch and were immediately wowed by the scenery. Super happy we were sat next to the window for the great view. Tip of the cap to the staff who were kind enough to hold our table and talk us through how to find the restaurant too. We started with drinks and the Pork Belly Croquettes and Lobster Spring Rolls. We also got the salmon Tokyo breakfast, which was a nice change of pace for brunch. The desserts were the wow, honestly. We got the Coconut-Mango and the Black Sesame Mochi. Both were beautiful and delicious. Everything was delicious and service was perfect.
Stayed at the St. Regis and had to try this place out! 5/5 for the drinks, 4/5 for the sushi. If you don't want a full sit down dinner, you can sit at the bar which is first come first serve. My party of 4 didn't have to wait too long for a spot. I ordered the matcha cocktail with egg whites. I love egg white drinks. And this drink was amazing! It was a perfect mix of refreshing, sorta sweet and overall delicious. We ordered toro, spicy tuna, and hamachi. It was okay. It wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. I'll definitely come back here for the drinks and the view!
